]]> The 2012 edition of the USA Pro Cycling Challenge will cover some familiar ground and take in some new territory, organizers announced on Thursday.

The August 20th-26th race through Colorado will add cycling hotspots Boulder and Durango to the menu, along with Montrose and Telluride, as it winds its way from Durango to Denver.

“By incorporating iconic cycling cities like Boulder and Durango in our second-year race we will further build the virtual postcard for the state of Colorado that we established in our inaugural year,” said CEO Shawn Hunter.

One of the shortest stages of the week, a mix of old and new awaits the racers on this second stage of 99 miles.  The first 65 miles has a bit of a sting with the short but challenging climbs over Cerro Summit and Blue Mesa Summit making for early launch pads for the breakaway specialists.

]]> Main in Motion is a 12 week long summer festival event located in the historical
downtown Montrose. This is the biggest event Montrose has ever had and this is
our 10th year! There are  literally people up and down a closed Main Street with
lots of entertainment and activities for the whole family. This year we have local
musicians and artists on the street corners, food vendors, children’s activities,
dance performances, our local farmers market, and local non-profits promoting
their message.

Friday, August 5th is the Cream of the Crop Classic Rock and Roll Concert featuring The Guess Who whose hits include “American Woman,” “These Eyes,” and “No Time.” The Olathe Chamber of Commerce will again sponsor the Downtown Classic Car Show and the Town of Olathe will sponsor the “Show Us Your Power” Burn Out.

Saturday, August 6th is an all day salute to the military featuring Country superstar Aaron Tippin in concert. Contests & games, live entertainment and many new and different forms of activities are coming your way.

Black Canyon Motel is a great basecamp centrally located in Montrose, CO to enjoy the festival and everything else our area has to offer!
